A Visit to the National Museum

Last week, our English class visited the National Museum in Muscat. Our teacher, Ms Laila, told us to bring a notebook because we had to write down three interesting things we saw.

When we arrived, a guide met us at the entrance. She explained that the museum has thousands of objects from Oman's long history. Our first stop was a room full of old maps and model ships. The guide told us that Omani sailors travelled as far as East Africa and China hundreds of years ago.

Next, we went to a gallery with traditional clothes, silver jewellery and khanjars. My friend Aisha could not stop looking at a beautiful silver necklace. I wrote about an old wooden door with carvings of flowers on it.

Before we left, we watched a short film about Omani traditions in the museum's cinema. On the bus home, we shared our notes. Everyone had chosen different things, and our teacher said that was the best part of the visit.
